v20 Selected Episode After Playback Ends
#1
When I watch a tv episode, after it is over and returns to the episode list, the episode that is selected isn't the one that just played, but instead the one that is 5 episodes back. For example in the log I play episode 20, when it ended and went back to the episode list it was episode 15 hilighted. It is consistently 5 episodes back however I have realized a possibility is the way the list is layed out, that is in the vertical centre of the screen in the view. It is only happening in the skin I'm using (the no longer supported Box skin) as I have tried it in default Estuary and that was fine.

I also tried starting an episode and then closing the player, in that case it was still on the right episode (the one I just played) so I think it has something to do with marking an episode as watched. Other possibly relevant info is that I'm using an external player.

As I mentioned this skin isn't really supported anymore, it hadn't been updated since 19.0 released. I've got some modifications to get it working on 20.2 but perhaps there's some out of date language causing a miscommunication with the new kodi version

Appreciate any ideas anybody has how to correct it

looks like you are using the box skin rather than the default, that skin also doesnt show to have had any updates in 3 years - https://github.com/DjCisco/skin.BOX

since all visuals in kodi are controlled by the skin then i would recommend checking the behavior in the default skin Estuary for comparison

Yes I did try Estuary and in that case it is normal

then it is the skin that is broken - you can check the official thread for it but it has been moved to archived which pretty much means no longer in development https://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=217

yes of course. I'm hoping somebody might have an idea what xml file to edit and what might need to be changed so I can do it myself. I've already made some other changes to fix how some images were displayed but this one I can't figure out

Update: I have figured out that what's happening is when the Kodi window comes back, the mouse pointer is reset the middle of the screen which is right on the episode 5 back in the list. It turns up quite small on a 4k tv so I didn't notice it. Disabled mouse support in Kodi settings since I always use either gamepad or keyboard anyway and that seems to have done the trick
