Solved Games on Kodi 20.1 on Philips TV Android 10 - game controls don't work
#16
@c1c3r0 I reworked player assignment. Currently, the problem with sorting players by last activation is that you can hop around to different players. This can be annoying when you're playing with a friend and someone's controller's batteries die, and on reconnection everyone controls different players.

Now, player assignment will be stable; controllers will remember which emulated ports they are connected to. Even if you swap in and out multitaps changing the port count, controllers will always remember their connected ports.

I think this is a more elegant solution. Can you test my 2023-07-09 builds and verify that input still works on Android?

Hey @garbear, thanks, I've tested it and can confirm everything is still working okay for me with this version.

Great, thanks for testing. I'll get this in master and Nexus nightlies soon. It'll go out in the v21 Alpha 3 and v20.3 releases.

We had some play store issues with v20.2, so it might be a while before this hits the play store, but of course you can sideload my test builds or grab a Nexus nightly from the mirrors.

Might want to report on the reddit thread that this is now solved. Fix will be in the 20.3 release in a few months, or you can grab the latest 20.2 Nexus nightly here: https://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/andro...v8a/Nexus/ , or grab my latest test build

Note, I created a fix for Kodi to ignore virtual controllers: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/24382

The fix will be included in v20.3 and v21 Beta 3.

The fix is included in my latest round of test builds: https://github.com/garbear/xbmc/releases

@c1c3r0 Can you test again with my latest 2024-01-29 build? I think I've got most Android bugs figured out, want to make sure your setup still works with it. And bring results to the new thread! https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=376084
