Juegos para DosBox Pure (smart TV)
#1
Hello every one! I have a problem with Kodi and the addon "DosBox Pure". I have Kodi Matrix 19.3 in my smart tv android. I recently installed the "DosBox Pure" addon.
I have read that DosBox recognizes MS-DOS games even if they are in .zip format.

In the internal storage of the TV I have copied a folder with 2 MS-DOS games, but when I run DosBox Pure it does not show me the games. What am I doing wrong?

Can you post a debug log? That will give me clues as to why the files don't show up.

Just follow the link: debug log (wiki)

Also please keep forum thread titles in English.

OK, thanks for answering, I'll try to extract the log file on the TV, because the folder browsers I have don't give me access to it. As soon as I have it, I'll let you know.

OK, let's get your dosbox-pure add-on working. It looks like the supported extensions are:

Code:
zip|dosz|exe|com|bat|iso|cue|ins|img|ima|vhd|jrc|tc|m3u|m3u8|conf

So it should be able to load a zip. By default Kodi browses into zips. Can you open the context menu for the zip and explicitly play it with RetroPlayer?

I am researching about Retroplayer and IAGL. The two games I have are in .ZIP format (Doom and Mortal Kombat II). In the file explorer of the TV I can see the two game files, but the Kodi explorer does not show them to me, even though I added their location as a source.
I open the DosBox Pure addon, and the main screen appears without games.
What I am understanding so far is that the emulator does not automatically recognize the games, but you must indicate where they are.
I have read that in Kodi 18, in the GAMES section, you add the location of the games yourself. But currently on Kodi 20 I can't do that.

I will continue to investigate. Thank you very much for your interest.

I'm happy to help get this working, I put a lot of effort into getting the DosBox Pure to at least boot in Kodi. The description, the icon, the build script...

Because I can't test every one of our 130 cores, I rely on interested enthusiasts to work out the bugs. I'm eager to hear your discoveries, and here to help if you have questions.

DISCARDED EMULATION WITH KODI ON THIS TELEVISION!

Using the addon I managed to download the game Robocop for MS-DOS (I didn't get Mortal Kombat II on IAGL), I chose to open the game with the DosBox Pure that I have previously installed, but the game looks extremely slow!

I thought it could be a DOS emulation problem, so I decided to try a NES game, through IAGL I downloaded the Super C rom, and then with the same addon I downloaded a Nes emulator (I don't remember what it's called), but the game is also runs very slow!

At least I learned that using the IAGL addon you can download many old games, but I'm sad I still don't know why I couldn't get dosbox roms to work manually. Since I have done it on other systems (PC, Android, Raspberry Pi)

I will continue to test the emulation on Android TV outside of Kodi, on this current device or another. Thank you very much to those who guided me.

To fix speed problems in games, try disabling Rewind in the "Games" section of Settings.
